Customs Broker License Exam Prep Course

Highline College Continuing Education and the Center of Excellence for Global Trade & Supply Chain Management are partnering to offer a preparation course for individuals who plan to sit for the U.S. Customs Broker License Examination.

The Customs Broker License is the most important credential in the import and export industry and the only certification in the field that is recognized by the U.S. government. Demand is growing for licensed customs brokers who provide value to companies seeking to better navigate the complexities of international trade laws and regulations. The licensing exam is offered at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection (CBP) service ports on the first Monday in April and the first Monday in October.

In order to become a customs broker, individuals must: be a U.S. Citizen, be at least 21 years old, not be a current U.S. government employee, be of good moral character, pass the Customs Broker License Examination, submit a broker license application with appropriate fees and have the application investigated and approved by CBP.
