Location:  Building 2, Highline College, Des Moines, WA

Food protection is the intersection of food safety, food quality, and food defense.  Initially called “food security,” “food defense” focuses on protecting the food supply from intentional contamination, with a variety of chemicals, biological agents or harmful substances by people who want to do us harm.  Intentionality differentiates food defense from food safety.  Join us for this forum that provides an opportunity for industry experts and educators to gather for a discussion of key issues impacting food defense.  This forum is co-sponsored by the Center of Excellence for Emergency Management and Homeland Security and the Center of Excellence for Global Trade and Supply Chain Management.
